Ladies Guild Fall Schedule
A reminder that the St. Jane Ladies Guild of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish will hold a general meeting Tuesday, September 7, at 7:00 pm in the school building cafeteria. All are welcome to attend.
Yearly dues of $5 will be collected at that meeting. You do not need to be a registered parishioner to be a member. Dues may also be paid by using the pink envelope that is in the September/October contribution envelope packet. These can be dropped off at the parish office or in the collection basket.
On Tuesday, September 14, we will begin our monthly Bunco sessions in the school at 7:00 pm.
Since COVID-19 is still with us, we will follow all recommendations and mandates issued for indoor gatherings, which includes the proper wearing of masks by all. Hand sanitizers and cleaning products will be available.
For either event, please park in the lot on the east side of the school building and enter through the side door. We hope to see you there!
St. Jane Ladies Guild Membership is only $5. All women of the parish are welcome to attend Bunco and to join the Guild.
For information, please call Andi Pocica at 773-610-5686. Thank you.
There appears to be a misconception circulating that the St. Jane Ladies Guild has closed. Rest assured, it has not. Two major changes have occurred.
1) Instead of a roster of officers, a group of eight members have created, with the approval of the general membership present at its, June 6, 2017 meeting, a Board of Directors which, upon discussion and deliberation, will make various decisions with regard to the direction of the Guild. This Board will take control of financial decisions regarding the continued support of various programs and other extraordinary expenses in support of the parish and school.
2) The Guild will no longer meet on a monthly basis. General meetings will be held in September, December, March and June. Should the occasion arise, a special meeting will be called to discuss pressing issues. All women of the parish are welcome to attend these meetings and to submit their dues through the pink envelope included in your recent envelope packet. Additionally, two Masses will be celebrated by the Ladies Guild during the year, one in November for our deceased members and one in June to celebrate the end of our year.
The Guild in this current form will continue to host monthly bunco nights, the proceeds of which will be used to support the many programs it has supported in the past. Four lottery raffles will be held during the year in December, February, May and June. The funds raised through these efforts will be used for our eighth grade grants and our donation to the teachers for their extraordinary expenses during the school year. Unfortunately, the popular Spaghetti Dinners and the Christmas Bake Sale will no longer be events of the Ladies Guild.
As you can see, we are alive and well and we hope this will put the rumors of our demise to rest. For information, please contact Andrea Pocica at 773-610-5686.
