The Youth Group at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish invites youth to its meetings

every Thursday from 7:30 – 9:30 pm.

World Youth Day – August 1-6, 2023 – Lisbon, Portugal

Our parish Youth Group members departed on their pilgrimage to World Youth Day in Lisbon, Portugal Sunday, July 23rd, under the supervision of Maria Horbal. The group landed safely in Portugal and sent greetings to all the parishioners of St. Faustina Kowalska and extended special greetings and thanks to all the sponsors and parishioners, who supported the various Youth Group fundraisers throughout the year that made this pilgrimage possible.

During their pilgrimage, our youth visited and prayed at the Montserrat Monastery in Catalonia, Spain; in Lourdes, France; at the Cathedral of San Salvador in Oviedo, Spain where they viewed the Shroud of Turin; at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela which houses the shrine of St. James the Great in Galicia, Spain; and in Fatima, Portugal; the city of Porto, Portugal, where they took part in youth rallies organized by the Diocese of Porto; and finally made it to Lisbon.

The youth expressed a great feeling to be part of the Universal Catholic Church and to meet youth from all over the world knowing that they belong to one Church of Christ, regardless of language, culture or race. On Wednesday, August 2, Pope Francis also arrived in Lisbon and presided over the main events of WYD.
